Judith van Andel
Judith graduated in 1992 at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Utrecht University.
In 1992 Judith was employed as a general veterinarian in The Netherlands for a short period of time after which she subsequently worked in Guatemala (the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics from 1993 to 1995, Herd management), Nepal (Rinderpest eradication program from 1996 to 1998) and Bolivia (Veterinary consultant NGO Ambio Chaco on small livestock production and nature conservation from 1998 to 2001). With her interest for nature conservation and natural farming she participated as co-director in a private enterprise using flocks of sheep for the maintenance of green areas in The Netherlands from 2001 to 2011.
Since 2011 Judith and her husband work as technical consultants in The Netherlands focusing on sheep farming, ecosystem services and natural farming. They have a strong affiliation with healthy soils and sustainable farming systems with one of their core activities being the introduction of Bokashi in the Agricultural sector. They exploit a social micro-enterprise building a strong and loyal relationship with a relatively small but steady group of farmers through a subscription system.
