Philippe van der Grinten

Philippe graduated in 1990 as a specialist in Tropical Animal Husbandry at the Agricultural University of Wageningen (WUR).

He has worked abroad for more than ten years in different veterinary and husbandry related field projects in Costa Rica, Guatemala, Nepal and Bolivia successively. Between 2001 and 2011 he operated as a professional shepherd using flocks of sheep to execute nature conservation contracts.

Since 2011 Philippe and his wife work as technical consultants in The Netherlands focusing on sheep farming, ecosystem services and natural farming. They have a strong affiliation with healthy soils and sustainable farming systems with one of their core activities being the introduction of Bokashi in the Agricultural sector. They exploit a social micro-enterprise building a strong and loyal relationship with a relatively small but steady group of farmers through a subscription system.
